Podia fee calculator

Courses, downloads and memberships. 5% on Mover, 0% from Shaker, plus Stripe or PayPal.

Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on each sale on its Mover plan at $49 a month, and no Podia fee on Shaker at $99 or Earthquaker at $179. Podia does not process payments itself: buyers pay your own connected Stripe or PayPal account, which deducts its standard processing fee, and Podia says that fee is charged by the processor and is not associated with Podia. So on Mover each sale carries two separate charges from two separate companies, and both are counted below. Podia has no free plan, so the monthly price is shown separately.

Podia Mover (billed monthly) — $49.00 per month. This is not a per-sale cost, so it is kept out of the figures above. Across 100 orders a month it adds $0.49 per order; across 10 it adds $4.90.

On this sale, Podia ranks 10 of 29 for what reaches you.

What this calculator does not cover

  • Podia's pricing page calls the Mover fee "a 5% fee on each sale" without naming a base, so it is applied to the sale price, the same amount processing is charged on.
  • Processing is charged by your own Stripe or PayPal account, not by Podia. Podia quotes "a standard transaction fee of 2.9% + 30¢, which may vary based on your location". This calculator uses Stripe's and PayPal's own published US standard rates, so a PayPal payment is priced at PayPal Checkout's rate, which is higher than the figure Podia quotes.
  • Monthly prices are the billed-monthly rates. Billed annually, Podia lists Mover at $42, Shaker at $84 and Earthquaker at $150 a month.
  • Podia's pricing page publishes no international or currency-conversion fee of its own, so the international and currency switches add only Stripe's or PayPal's published surcharges.

Podia fees: common questions

How much are Podia fees on a $50 sale?

$4.25 in fees on a $50 sale ($2.50 to Podia and $1.75 to Stripe), leaving you $45.75 — an effective rate of 8.5%. On $100 it is $8.20, leaving $91.80. The effective rate is higher on the smaller sale because part of the fee is a fixed amount per transaction, which weighs more heavily on smaller orders.

What are Podia's fees, exactly?

On a $50 sale, the fees are Podia transaction fee of $2.50 (5% of $50.00), Stripe card processing of $1.45 (2.9% of $50.00), Stripe per-transaction fee of $0.30 ($0.30 flat). That comes to $4.25 in total. There is also $49.00 per month, which is not charged per sale.

What should I charge on Podia to keep $50?

Work it backwards rather than guessing: at Podia's rates you have to charge more than $50 to keep $50, because the fee is taken from what the buyer pays. The what-to-charge calculator solves for the exact price, including any flat per-transaction fee, and rounds up to the cent so you are never left short.

Is Podia's monthly fee worth it?

That depends entirely on your order volume, not your revenue. $49.00 per month is the same whether you sell nothing or thousands, so spread across 10 orders a month it adds $4.90 per order, and across 100 it adds $0.49. Compare that against the per-sale saving before deciding — the plan fee is deliberately kept out of the per-sale figures on this page for exactly that reason.

What does this Podia calculator not include?

Podia's pricing page calls the Mover fee "a 5% fee on each sale" without naming a base, so it is applied to the sale price, the same amount processing is charged on.

Are these Podia fees up to date?

They were read from Podia's own published fee schedule on October 19, 2026, and the source is linked on this page so you can check it yourself. An automated check re-reads every source page weekly and flags any that have changed. Fee schedules do move without notice, so where this page and Podia disagree, Podia is right.

That is what the fees on Podia take. What the unit actually earns is another question again, once shipping, advertising and the orders that come back are in the picture — work out the true margin.

There is no account, no email wall and nothing for sale here, which is deliberate — it is what lets the site publish what platforms actually charge and link to where each rate came from. Re-reading ten fee schedules every week is the unglamorous part, and it is what keeps the numbers worth trusting. If that saved you a bad listing decision, you are welcome to put a little toward the domain and the hosting. If it did not, please do not.
